Theodore N. Taraschuk, 78, of Kensington, husband of Rosalie (Reeve) Taraschuk died (May 10, 2002) at New Britain General Hospital. Born in Scranton, PA, on Jun. 25, 1923 he moved to Kensington in the late 1940's, lived in New Britain for seven years, returning to Kensington in 1957. He served with the U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II and was a self-employed long distance truck driver for many years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington; and of Teamsters Union Local 671 of Hartford and Local 92 in Ohio.
Besides his wife of 52 years, he leaves 2 sons, Theodore Taraschuk,II and his wife June of New Britain; and Thomas Taraschuk of Kensington; 3 daughters, Susan Tarachuk of Deer Park, Ohio; Beth-Ann Keeley of Colchester; and Rosalie Taraschuk and her husband Richard Battistini of New Britain; a brother, Eugene Taraschuk and his wife Eleanor of Newington; 5 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, New Britain.
