Enlisted in Company H, Pennsylvania 28th Infantry Regiment on 19 Jun 1863. Mustered out on 28 Jul 1863.

Ferguson Eveland, age 73, died yesterday morning shortly after 9 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Esser, 11 Dodson Lane, of paralysis. He is survived by the following children: Elwood of Philadelphia: Miles, Samuel, Silas and George of this city, and John of Bloomsburg: Mrs. A.R. Leivengood of Kresgeville and Mrs. Henry Esser. He is also survived by two brothers, Abraham Eveland of Orangeville and George Eveland of Detroit, Mich.

The funeral of Ferguson Eveland will take place Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of his daughter Mrs. Henry Esser, 11 Dodson Lane. Services will be conducted at the house with interment in Mt. Greenwood Cemetery.
