Abram (also as Abraham) was born at Micklehurst, the son of James and Rebecca Knott Sinfield. He came to the United States in 1855, (possibly with an unknown first wife, Ann?) and in 1870, married Nancy Ellen Long, born Sep 1844 or 1846? in Ohio. They were in Dunkirk, NY in 1875 and 1880 with a son, William F., b. 1870/71, in NY. They are likely the Nancy E. and William F. Sinfield buried in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Clark Co., OH.
Abram enlistd as a Private in Co. F, 3rd Ohio Cavalry on 10 Sep 1861 and was discharged on 4 Aug 1865 as a Bugler.
Abram suffered a wound in his left wrist and both Abram and older brother William died at the Central Branch, National Home for Disabled Soldiers, at Jefferson, Montgomery Co., OH.
