Wayne G. Rydecki, 52, of Farmington, beloved husband of Silvia (Reale) Rydecki, died Saturday (July 16, 2005) at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington., Born in New Britain, CT. on Feb. 15, 1953 son of the late Theodore "Todge" Rydecki and Frances (Wollman) Rydecki. Wayne was a star baseball pitcher at Pulaski High School, graduating in 1971, he received his Bachelors Degree from Central Connecticut State University. Wayne was employed at Virginia Industries in Rocky Hill for 21 years, then served as Company Vice President and General Manager of their Opelika, Alabama Foundry for three years. He later worked as a senior Consultant for American Management Services for three years, retiring in 2004. Wayne was a member of the New Britain Elks Club #957; and was a charter member of the Auburn University Golf Club in Auburn, Alabama. Because of his love of sports, Wayne coached many area youth teams including, soccer, softball, A.W. Stanley/Walicki minor and major league baseball and American Legion Post 6 baseball. He played for St. Ann's fast pitch softball for many years and was an avid golfer. There was no one happier than Wayne to see the Red Sox win the World Series and UCONN win both men and women's basketball titles. Wayne enjoyed watching NY Giant football games with his friends and son. Wayne will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Besides his wife Silvia, he leaves the light of his life, two sons, Todd Rydecki of New Britain and Scott Rydecki of Tucson, AZ; a daughter, Ashlee Rydecki of Farmington; a brother, Craig Rydecki and his wife Lisa of New Britain; a sister, Lynn Allen and her husband Larry of Southington; three nieces; two aunts Marlyn Tanzi of New Britain and Jean May of Las Vegas; an uncle Gerry Wollman of New Britain and many cousins.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
