Mrs. Christine Barrs Howell, age 95, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, October 6, 2013, in Bryant Nursing Home, Cochran, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30PM Tuesday, October 8, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Elder Franklin Bryant officiating, with interment in Giddens-Harrell Cemetery.
Mrs. Howell was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was daughter of the late Edna Douglas Barrs & Robert Barrs, widow of Ellis Howell and was preceded in death by 6 Brothers - Quitman Barrs, Harold Barrs, Frank Barrs, Raymond "Blue" Barrs, Dother J. Barrs and Luther Barrs.
Survivors: Son -Wayne Howell (Shelby) of Warner Robins; 4 Grandchildren - Wendy Howell-Chambers (Billy) of Warner Robins, Cindy Howell-Myers (Mack) of Byron, Steve Howell (Katrina) of Gresston and Michael Stillion (Melissa) of Orlando, FL; 8 Great-Grandchildren - Shelby, Ashlei, Gage, Gavin, Stephen, Taylor, Ashley and Seda; Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 12:30PM-1:30PM Tuesday, October 8. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
