Bev was born June 1, 1970, in Vancouver, Washington, the daughter of Ernie and Edith (Kohnke) Puscher. She graduated from Prairie High School in 1988 and attended Moody Bible Institute. She married Scotty Wharton in 1991 and they had five children, Abby, Matt, Zach, Joseph and Luke.

Bev died suddenly on November 19, 2012, at the age of 42 from complications of cancer. She is buried in the Elim Cemetery in Brush Prairie, Washington.
