Her mother died when she was 3 months old from consumption (Tuberculosis). Her father married second wife, Emma America Dyche in 1906.

Doris was married to Pat W Rooney Jr (1909-1979) on 14 Apr 1930 and divorced on 28 Jul 1934. She later married a Mr Levy.

Many reports in the newspaper back in her movie times list her birthday as 16 Apr 1909.

Apparently, the movie producers didn't like her raspy voice when the sound came to the movies.

Her obituary is listed as Doris D Levy.

Will add more later.
