Delivered by Dr. Metcalf in South Nassau Communities Hospital. The only child of Gertrude Burchell and Thomas Henry Fox. Baptized in St. Marks United Methodist Church in Rockville Center, NY. . Thomas is known as Ed or Eddie as a child and as Tom as an adult. His father dies when he is only 15. He becomes a taxi dispatcher to support family. Marries Julie Ann Bohman on August 4, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY, but they will divorce in 1976 and remarry in April of 1977. They have 7 children all born on Long Island, some at the same hospital as he was and by the same doctor. He eventually works for U.S. Extrusions as an over the road trucker and then Merrick Taxi as a driver and dispatcher. He worked as a counterman at the Uniondale deli. He also worked for two sons in their deli's (Pequa and Bellmore). He went on to work for the Bellmore-Merrick Library system and a grocery store in Malverne before moving to Alabama to be near his youngest son and wife. Thomas loved trivia and would often say that he "was a fountain of useless knowledge". He also loved horse racing and playing cards. After 50 years of smoking his Camels, they finally took his life – from lung cancer. He is missed. He left his wife Julie, 7 children, 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
