Growing up in Detroit, Mich., Mr. Jackson received his formal education and attended The Original Church of God in Detroit where he played the drums and lead guitar. Upon moving to Jackson in the late 90s, he united with Jackson Street Baptist Church. He will be lovingly remembered as one who could repair just about anything.
In addition to his mother, his grandparents, Elizabeth Jackson and Elisha Jackson Sr.; and brother, Richard Anthony Jackson preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Sarita Jackson; one son, Tracy Jackson Jr.; one daughter, Bama Latice Jackson, all of Detroit; his father; one sister, Joyce (Willie) Horn of Detroit; five aunts, Dannie Mitchell of Loxley, Mildred Jefferson and Annette
Banks, both of Williamsburg, Va., Evelyn Campbell of Daphne and Sharon Jackson of Detroit; five uncles, Titus (Betty) Jackson, Major (Joann) Jackson, Edward Jackson and Alonzo (Yvonne) Jackson, all of Jackson, and Caesar Jackson of Detroit; three nieces, Tamika Horn, Kimmy Jackson and Alyssa Jackson; three nephews, Tony Jackson, Richard Jackson and Kenneth Jackson; great-nephew, D'Mitri Horn, all of Detroit; a very close friend, Annie Marie Campbell of Jackson; a devoted family friend, Chanda Johnson of Detroit and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 12, 12 noon, at Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in Rockville with the Rev. Kevin Jackson, pastor, and the Rev. Larry Purifoy, pastor of Jackson Street Baptist Church, delivering the eulogy. Viewing will be Friday, 1-6 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home in Jackson and Saturday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. Following the burial in the church cemetery, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church.
