Dart O. Adams died September 1, 1940 in a house fire that started in the night while his parents were not at home. The fire was investigated by the Deputy Sheriff who declared that the origin of the fire was unknown. A coroner's inquest was held and the jurymen found no evidence of criminal negligence.
The funeral services were held Wednesday, September 4, 1940, after which Dart was laid to rest in the Grace Cemetery along with his siblings (Kay, Fern, and Arlene) who died with him in the fire.
