PALMER, CLOWES B. Clowes B. Palmer of Millville passed away January 5, 2003 at his home with his wife and daughter by his side. Born at Millville on March 20, 1913, he was a son of the late Harry and Frances (Swade) Palmer. Clowes was an avid fisherman, cook, hunter and trapper. He farmed for many years at Howland Ridge and after moving to Millville was employed by U.N.B. with the maintenance staff until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Phyllis M.A. (Brown) Palmer; a daughter, Pauline Foster, Burtts Corner; a sister, Pauline Hale, Woodstock; two grandsons, Phillip Foster (Gail) and Clifford Foster, both of Burtts Corner; three great grandsons, Keith and Andrew Foster, Edmonton, Alberta and Malcolm Foster (Michelle) of Burtts Corner; step-great granddaughters Ashley and Natasha; a step great grandson, Billy Joe; a great great grandson, Colby Foster; step-great great grandson Brett; several nieces and nephews. Clowes was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Hale and three brothers, Marcus, Lawrence and Edward Palmer. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive Nackawic, with visiting hours on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2003, at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Rev. Mark Cooney officiating. Interment will be later at Hawkins Corner Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Brown, Darrell Myshrall, Dr. Fred Goodine and members of the Silver Circle Seniors Club of Millville. Active pallbearers will be Edward Hawkins, Ronald Osborne, Frederick Wallace, Melvin Blizzard, Flavine Jones and Stanley Billings. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Clowes, the family has suggested the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Hawkins Corner Cemetery.
