Evan married Dorothy Christensen March 30, 1934, at his parent's home in Grace. They were married by his father, who was a Justice of the Peace. They had two sons: Von Andrew Adams and Barry H. Adams.
He was a grain farmer/sheep rancher in Grace. He was an avid fisherman and was a sports fan.
Evan learned to play the violin. He and Kathryn Dalton played music for silent movies, Evan on the violin and Kathryn on the piano. He enjoyed music his entire life and loved the big band sound.
He was a past member of the Elks Lodge and Lions Club.
Evan and Dorothy moved to Soda Springs, Idaho in 1968. They took several trips together and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Senior Citizen Center in Soda Springs, March 31, 1984.
Evan is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his sister, Selma Hubbard Bovenmyer, and his sons Von A. and Barry H. Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Alma James Adams.
