Alma was born in Layton, UT. When he was two years old, his family moved to Grace. He played both basketball and football in college.

An article written by Hack Miller appeared in the Deseret News dated Dec. 16, 1968 and stated that "The year 1934 was just another year. Yet it was the time when Utah State had such greats as Kent Ryan, Cleo Petty, Conley Watts, Frank McNeil, ALMA ADAMS, and Frank Gutke."

When he left college, he went back to Grace where he farmed and raised sheep.

Alma married Naomi Bjorkman January 12, 1940 in Pocatello, ID. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on January 25, 1955. He served in the Grace 2nd Ward Bishopric as First Counselor for nine years.

He was also a member of the Caribou County Mounted Sheriff's Posse. He performed with them at the Caribou County Fair and Night Rodeo, and was an active member of any search/rescue that the posse participated in. He had been a board member for the Grace School District for nine years.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 14, after which he was laid to rest in the Grace Cemetery.

He is survived by two daughters, Alma Alease Hayes and Karen Panter.
