Robert Dale Battin, formerly of Nashville, was killed in an automobile accident on U.S. 31 near Greenwood
Saturday night. He was riding in the rumble seat of the auto which overturned when it ran into loose gravel.
Mr. Battin was twenty-one years of age and was born in Nashville. He was a son of Mr. & Mrs. Samuel
Battin, who moved from Nashville to Whiteland several years, where they now reside.
The crash in which Mr. Battin lost his life resulted in the injury of four young men, all living near Whiteland.
They were Robert Malone, Courtland Hughey, Woodrow Sefton and Hansford Yates. Battin had been
employed in a canning plant.
Funeral services were conducted at Whiteland at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
