Miss Alta M. Barker, 84, native of the Trimble section of the county, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her nephew, Farris Barker, at Trimble, following an illness of a year caused by a broken hip suffered in a fall at Cincinnati. Born near Trimble, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Barker. She moved to Cincinnati about 30 years ago and was employed there until she suffered the broken hip. She had been at the home of her nephew for the past several months. Miss Barker was a kind citizen, a possessor of a pleasing personality, and was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to a neighbor in distress. She was a devoted church worker and served her Master well. Survivors are several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Oak Grove Church and interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
