Edith L. Williams, 89, of 419 N. Monroe St., died at 9:43 p.m. Thursday (July 24, 1986) at Dr. John Warner Hospital, Clinton, after a short illness.

She was born Sept. 20, 1896, at Forest City, a daughter of George and Martha Lane Gibson.

She married Elbert O.- Williams July 29, 1915. He died Jan. 11, 1966.

Survivors include six sons, Eldon, Clinton; Thomas, Normal; William "Bill," Ocala, Fla.; Charles F., De-Witt; Don, Muncie, Ind.; and Wilbur, Orland Park; two daughters, Alice Doss, Clinton; and Perry "Jean" Troxel, Decatur; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grand-children.

She was preceded in death by three sons, a grandson, five sisters and three brothers.

She was a member of the Shiloh Methodist Church, Wayne County.
