Irene Jordan Harris, 77 of Granite Falls, NC, passed away, Saturday, June 25, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Harris was born in Blairsville, Ga. on June 29, 1933 to the late Roy Frank and Nettie Plott Jordan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Washington Harris; infant son, Jeffery Lynn Harris; brother, Tom Jordan; two sisters, Bennie and Betty Jordan.
She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was self-employed as a bookkeeper.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sherrie Harris Barger; two sons, Ronnie George and Billy Joe Harris; and one brother, Lewis Jordan; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A graveside service for Mrs. Harris will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Hudson, NC with her daughter, Sherrie Harris Barger speaking at the service. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
