Sarah Preston was the daughter of John Preston Sr and Elizabeth Tucker; born near Buckingham Meeting House.

Sarah was listed as a grandchild in the Will of Nicholas Tucker, of Buckingham, Yeoman on the 11th mo., 4th day, 1769. Sarah brothers John and William Preston were also listed.

On 13 Apr 1774, Sarah married Thomas Dyer at Buckingham Meeting House:

"Whereas Thomas Dyer of Plumstead in the County of Bucks & Province of Pennsylvania (Son of Josiah Dyer of the same Place) And Sarah Preston the Daughter of John Preston of Buckingham in the County of Bucks aforesaid having declared their Intentions of Marriage with each other before several Monthly Meetings of the People called Quakers at Buckingham aforesaid according to the good Order used amongst them and having the Consent of Parents & Relations concerned their said Proposals of Marriage were allowed by the said Meeting. Now these are to certifie all whom it may concern that for the full accomplishment of their said Intentions on the 13th day of the fourth month in the Year of our Lord 1774 they the said Thomas Dyer & Sarah Preston appeared in a publick Meeting of the said People of Buckingham aforesaid and the said Thomas Dyer taking the said Sarah Preston by the Hand did in a solemn Manner openly declare that he took her to be his Wife promising with the Lord's assistance to be unter her a loving & faithful Husband until Death should separate them (or Words to that Purpose). And then there in the same assembly the said Sarah Preston did in like Manner openly declare that she took the said Thomas Dyer to be her Husband, promising (with the Lord's assistance) to be unto him a loving & faithful Wife until Death should separate them (or Words to that Effect). And moreover they the said Thomas Dyer and Sarah Preston (she according to the Custom of Marriage assuming the Name of her Husband) and a further confirmation thereof did then & there to these Presents set their Hands, And we whose Names are her under also subscribed being present at the Solemnization of the said Marriage and Subscription Have as Witnesses thereunto set our Hand the Day & Year above written.
