DAVID EMERY BAUDER

The late David Emery Bauder of Russell, Mich., was born in Modoc, Ontario, Canada, nearly fifty-nine years ago where his boyhood days were spent on his father's farm. In 1870 he married Miss Eliza Wilson of Queensboro, Ontario, who is left to mourn her loss. They resided in Canada
until thirteen years ago when they moved to Isabella county, Mich.

To their happy union were born twelve children of whom these still survive: Allen, Fred, Seymour, Frank and Ella, residing on the homestead; Erwin and John living on adjoining farms; Mrs. Alice Lockwood of Clare and Mrs. Maggie Funnell of Russell—all of whom mourn the loss of a loved father. Two brothers, William and Robert, of Clare and three sisters, Mrs. Sidney Minnie of Bridgewater, Canada, Mrs. Nancy Waddington of Nebraska and Mrs. Dortha Sweet of Soo, also mourn his departure.

Mr. Bauder was taken ill four weeks ago with typhoid fever and died Thursday, October 9th, 1902. He was a member of the Methodist church in Canada and was always an ardent worker in the cause of Christ. He was an industrious farmer, a good neighbor, a devoted husband and an affectionate father. The sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended to the relatives in their sad bereavement. The funeral service was conducted by his nephew, Rev. G. Porter Bennett, of Leaton, Mich, A very large procession followed the remains to the Calkinsville cemetery where he was buried beside his mother. ( The Clare Sentinel, p.1 - Clare, MI - 16 October 1902)
