NEIL L. AVERY
Neil L. Avery, age 69, a resident of the Manitowoc County Health Care Center,
Manitowoc, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the center.
Neil was born on Jan. 26, 1938, in Manitowoc, son of the late Virgil and Pauline
Frozena Avery. Neil graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class
of 1956. He served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1963.
On May 20, 1961, Neil married the former Laverne Peik in Manitowoc. She preceded
him in death on May 22, 1999. Neil was employed with the Manitowoc Ship Builders
as a welder for many years.
Survivors include one son, Michael Avery, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Tammy and Alan Szczesny, Manitowoc; his twin brother and one sister-in-law, Wayne and Caroline Avery, Milwaukee; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Cindy Buckberger, Fort Atkinson, Erna and LeRoy Bowe, Waukesha; two nephews, Scott Avery and Glenn (Michele) Avery, both of Milwaukee; other relatives and friends also survive.
Neil was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Avery; and one brother-in-law
and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Delores Peik.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the
service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday May 22, 2007, at First Lutheran Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at First
Lutheran Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Steven
Olson.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral
arrangements.
