Michael Dale Johnson passed away on September 29, 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee. A native of Evansville, Indiana, he was born September 22, 1953 to James A. and Lydia M. Johnson.
Michael was a 1970 graduate of Bosse High School in Evansville, IN. After graduating, he served in the United States Navy. He worked at CSX Railroad for 32 years.
He gave his life to Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Galilee Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and a sister, Diane.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Jennifer Johnson; 7 children: Irena Johnson of Georgia, Marco Johnson of Evansville, Dr. Mikka Solomon of Georgia, Michael Johnson of Tennessee, Mario Johnson of Tennessee, Jasmine Johnson of the United States Navy, and Joy Johnson of the United States Navy; 6 siblings: Jimmy Johnson of GA, Vernon Johnson of Evansville, Bobby Johnson of Evansville, Marilyn Johnson of Evansville, Marshelia Starks of Evansville, and Jamia Lock of Evansville; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Olive Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday at Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel where friends may call after 4:00pm and visitation with the family will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Burial at Oak Hill. Mason Brothers Memorial Chapel is in charge.
