Killed in Mine

Columbia Man Victim of Mishap at Phosphate Firm

Columbia, Tenn., December 12 (Spl.) - James Roscoe Tucker, 22, employe of the Armour phosphate mines near here, was killed almost instantly when he was dragged through the drag-shaft of the mine at 5:30 o'clock this morning.


Tucker's foot slipped and he fell into the shaft. His body was badly Mangled.


He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam C. Tucker, of Shady Grove. He is survived also by four sisters, Misses Lois, Margaret, Doris and Mary Tucker, and two brothers, Carl and Glenn Tucker.


Funeral services will be held at Shady Grove at 1 o'clock this afternoon. Elder B. F. Harding, of Columbia, will officiate.


Burial will be near Shady Grove.
