Maurice Winston Balderson, 84, of Warsaw, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 4, 2013. He was the widow of Joyce Green Balderson, a member of Welcome Grove Baptist Church, a retired D.C. Firefighter, and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survivors are his wife, Karen Feaga Balderson; two sons, Kevin Michael Balderson (Gretchen) of Pace, FL and Derrick Joseph Balderson (Kathy) of Sunderland, MD; stepsons, Tony McGillin (Karin) of New Freedom, PA, and Andy McGillin (Tammy) of Bel Air, MD; step-daughter, Jenny McGillin of Lanham, MD; brother, Gayle Balderson and sister Jeane Woolson, both of Hampton, VA.; his four grandchildren, Bridgette, Brett, Ava, and Faith Balderson; five step-grandchildren, Bryan, Matthew, Joey, Carly, and Courtney McGillin. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2013 at Welcome Grove Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at the Montross Chapel of the Welch Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richmond County Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Newland Station 3, P. O. Box 1232, Warsaw, VA 22572 or the Welcome Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Fund, 7368 Newland Road, Warsaw, VA 22572.
