Rada Sylvia Fabela, 85, passed from this life on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Tulsa on Jan. 11, 1928 to Emery and Mary Emma (Turner) Durkee. Funeral service are scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Mobley-Dodson Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Viewing and visitation were set for Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Durkee family followed the harvest to California where they made their home for several years before making their way back to their roots in Oklahoma. She lived in Green Country most of her life where she raised her children. Rada was a bookkeeper by trade and worked many years for Scribner Stevens Oil Company. She loved cooking and sewing and will be remembered for her family meals with her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, Rada enjoyed painting.

She is lovingly survived by her son; daughter, and husband; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Mary Emma Durkee; husband, Marcelino Fabela; brother, Floyd Durkee; two sons, Kenny East and Tom East; and grandson, Michael East.
