Tuesday morning, March 24, at 5:00 o’clock the earthly remains of one of Taylor Township’s most highly respected women, Mrs. Frances M. LESTER, passed to that heavenly reward. he was one of fourteen children born to Peter and Elizabeth HASLER, pioneer citizens of Taylor Township, who emigrated from Berne, Switzerland, and settled in that township about four miles south of Mineral, and where the deceased was born. Had she lived until April 7, she would have been seventy-two years of age. She had been ill about three weeks of heart trouble. She is survived by her husband; one son, Jonas LESTER, and one daughter, Opha. She is also survived by one brother, James HASLER, Bloomfield; three sisters, Mrs. Letitia GROVE and Miss Sarah HASLER, Bloomfield, and Mrs. Margaret WAGNER, of Olney, Ill. Henry HASLER, of this place is a nephew. Six brothers and three sisters preceded her to that unknown land. Funeral services were held at 1 o’clock this (Thursday) afternoon at the family residence in Taylor Township, conducted by a former pastor of the Newberry M. E. church, Rev. Robert WALKER, of Jasper county, assisted by Rev. S. E. STROUD, pastor of the Newberry M. E. circuit.
Interment in Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield.
