Survived by his wife, Alice; one daughter, Florence DePaolo of Meriden; one son, Charles Downey of Wallingford; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Mason of New York City, and Mrs. Ellen Granucci of Wallingford; one brother, Edward Downey of Wallingford; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The Rev. John Shea celebrated the solemn high mass of requiem assisted by the Rev. Gilbert Cannon as deacon and the Rev. Jerome Cook as sub-deacon. Miss Gertrude Kane was organist and soloist. The Rev. James Donaher of North Haven recited committal prayers at the cemetery.
