Harvey John Rolf Hadland, 82, Grand Forks, ND, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home peacefully to be with Jesus on Valentine's Day, Thursday, February 14, 2008, while holding his daughter's hand. He lived a full, wonderful life, which he was very thankful for. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Harvey was born the son of Oliver and Agnes (Olson) Hadland on July 7, 1925 in Grand Forks, ND. He was confirmed in Augustana Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, N.D. After high school he was drafted and proudly served his country from 1943-1946 during World War II in Italy.

He returned to Grand Forks and attended Aaker's Business College. Gene Goodman, Bud Stowe, and Harvey established Northern Plumbing Supply where he worked as manager until his retirement. He considered all of Northern Plumbing as his second family. Harvey was a member of the Elks, Exchange Club, and the American Legion. He was a member of Zion Methodist Church and recently was attending Faith Evangelical Free Church. On October 30, 1948, Harvey married Rita Clingman, the love of his life. They enjoyed fifty-nine years together and raised four children who were all very dear to him. After family and friends, golf was one of Harvey's greatest joys.

He is survived by his wife, Rita, Grand Forks, ND; sons, Lon, Glenwood Springs, CO, Mark (Denise) Placentia, CA; daughters, Sherida (Mark) Naastad, Grand Forks, ND, Erin Elliott, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Kacy (Ian), Jarrid, Kathy, Benn, Gillian, Chloe, Corbin (Tina), Alexandra, Tanner, Jack; three great-grandsons; brother, Ollie (Sadie) Fargo, ND and a sister, Marlene Menge, Aptos, CA. Harvey's grandchildren were so special to him, and he was a very dedicated, loving father, as well as a loyal friend.

He was preceded by his parents.
