Ruby Louise Hinton, the daughter of Monroe and Ruby Alston, entered upon life's path on Wednesday, September 28, 1921 in the city of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

She moved to Detroit, Michigan with her mother at an early age, and was educated in the public schools of the city. She married the love of her life, Oscar, Hinton, in 1950 and enjoyed 34 years of nuptial bliss until his decease in 1984.

Ruby, more familiarly known to some of her friends and relatives as Louise, had early accepted Jesus, The Christ, as Lord and Master of her life. A dedicated member of People's Community Church, she served for years as a worker in the Feeding Ministry of the church, cheerfully preparing meals for the indigent.

She spent her professional life in the employment of Sears, Roebuck and Company, retiring with honor and respect following decades of loyal service.

Louise loved to square dance, joining others of like persuasion in joyous evenings of twirling and whirling to the voice of the caller and the twang of guitar and fiddle. She loved to watch golf tournaments, baseball, basketball, and football games, sinking into despair whenever Tiger Woods failed to sink his putts, and soaring above the clouds when her favorite teams gained the victory. It was this competitive, God-given spirit that for decades enabled her to battle so amazingly and successfully the legion of ailments that incessantly plagued her health.

On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, just ten days short of her 92nd birthday, God reached down and cradled Ruby Louise in His arms, lifting her high above this earthly phase of existence in order to seat her amidst the Winners' Circle in that realm where all games end in victory, all putts are made, and all is perfect health.
