Thomas M. Baker, 66, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at his residence.
Born July 1, 1934. a native of Adair County, he was a member of Valley Creek Baptist Church. He formerly worked at Crow Funeral Home in Glasgow and was a retired antique auto owner. He restored antique cars and was the retired owner of Baker's Ginseng Farm. He worked part time for Swifty and served in the Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Ivy Keltner Baker; and two sisters, Ruby Land and Bertha Marie Baker.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Jenkins Baker; two sons, Douglas Ray Baker of Elizabethtown and Kenneth Douglas Baker of Indianapolis; a daughter, Elizabeth Faith Goodman of Elizabethtown; four brothers, James S. Baker of Greensburg, William Garland Baker and Dulath Baker, both of Columbia, and Gleason Baker of Lexington, N.C.; four sisters, Lucille Sneed and Geneva Yarberry, both of Columbia, Clara Adams of Cave City, and Dee lanes of Somerset; and five grandchildren.
The funeral is 2 p.m. today at Locust Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Hill and the Rev. Russell Janes officiating.
Burial will be in Valley Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will continue at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
