Dana Severin Scott
Age 43, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 3, 2013, with loving family by her side after a courageous 13-month battle with cancer.
Born in Wilmington, DE, Dana was the daughter of Sharon Otteni Sampson of Wilmington, DE and Jerry E. Severin of Sebastian, Fl. After graduating from Delcastle High School, Dana worked at various jobs until finding her dream job at Astra Zeneca. Proud and dedicated, she worked until a few weeks ago when she was no longer physically able.
Dana was a devoted wife and mother. Her life revolved around her children whether it was baking for school activities, attending athletic events, going to concerts, or taking them to horse-riding lessons. Her dedication to her family and friends was boundless. Dana had many interests including her love of animals, time at the beach with her family, baking, and very early Christmas shopping. She especially enjoyed recent family reunions in Sebastian, FL and Harbeson, DE.
Dana is survived by her loving husband of 7 years, Michael Scott, two children, Ryan and Julia Seichepine, mother Sharon O. Sampson (Mark S. Ayers) of Wilmington, DE, father Jerry E. Severin (Judy) of Sebastian, Fl, sister Andrea Mattson (Bill) of Riverside, CA, step-brother Jason Ayers (Allison) of Hockessin, DE, step-sister Tara DiCecco (Steve) of Newark, DE, half-brother Jeff Severin of Milford, DE, half-sister Sherry Bogush (Chris) of New Castle, DE and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Helen Graham Center and Delaware Hospice for their compassionate and professional care and Astra Zeneca who was caring and supportive during Dana's illness. A special thanks to the numerous family, friends and co-workers that prayed for Dana in "Stand up to Cancer for Dana Severin Scott."
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE, where friends and family are invited to visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood Hwy, Newark, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Ryan and Julia Seichepine Educational Fund, WSFS Bank, 4730 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808.
