GRAY, Jan. 24 (Special) - Mrs. Charles Thayer, a lifelong resident of this town, died Wednesday evening at her home here following an illness of two weeks. She was born in Gray June 9, 1850, the daughter of Rufus and Lucinda Hurley Thayer [sic... s/b Berry]. Besides her husband she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Goff, wife of Willis Goff, and one granddaughter, Miss Alta Goff of Dry Mills, and a sister, Mrs. Augusta Porter of North Yarmouth. Mrs. Thayer had been in failing health for several months, but during this period her home had been a center of much social interest.
