Katie Alice Nichols, 89, of Columbia died Friday, July 1, 1994, at Boone
Retirement Center.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 3, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Harold Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at the funeral
home.

Mrs. Nichols was born Oct. 5, 1904, to William N. Caruthers and Catherine
Mahalia Hawkins Caruthers. On July 15, 1927, she married Ezra Price Nichols,
and he preceded her in death in 1957.

She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, William J. Nichols of Ashland and Ezra Price
Nichols Jr. and Kenneth Nichols, both of Columbia; a daughter, Marjorie Fern
Beaman of Columbia; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a
great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a son, Lewis
Eugene Nichols.
