Laura Beth Purcell, 78, of Columbia died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, in Columbia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Purcell was born March 29, 1922, in Columbia to Channing Tandy and Opal Holloway Crane.
She married Roger Purcell on March 2, 1940, and he preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and retired as a receptionist in the counseling department at Stephens College.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Purcell of Brookfield; two daughters, Lyndia Harvey and Dianna Buckingham, both of Denver; three sisters, Dorothy Turner, Verna Dean Price and Martha Elliott, all of the state of California; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son.
