Nancy Stewart, Daughter of Robert and Elizabeth JOHNSON, was born near Cynicyville {sic?}, Ohio, Guernsey County, July 4, 1851, and departed this life October 6, 1921, aged seventy years, three months and two days. She was one of a family of eight children—two sisters and two brothers having preceded her to the Great Beyond. About 1865 the family came to Indiana, where she spent the remainder of her life, except the two last years spent visiting her children and relatives in Missouri and Iowa. She was married to William HOSTETER {sic}, September 29, 1870. This union was blessed with seven children—four boys and three girls. They are: James, of Vincennes; Robert, of Burlington Junction, Missouri; Solomon, who departed this life twenty-six years ago at the early age of nineteen; Howard, near Bloomfield; Mary HUDSON, of Mount Ayr, Iowa; Ada FAUCETT, of Solsberry, Elva KELLER, of Lyons. In her early womanhood she united with the Congregational church, later the Methodist church at Greene County Chapel. Because of her affliction she spent her life mostly at home, rearing her children. She was a kind and loving mother, a good wife and neighbor. For the last few weeks she was confined to her bed where she patiently bore her sufferings until the Master called her home. She leaves to mourn her departure a husband, six children, two brothers, a sister, thirty grandchildren, and four great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends
