Luis passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013, in Palo Alto, Ca. He was born on August 19, 1925, to Selso and Catarina Hernandez of Laton, Ca. he was the youngest of three children. Luis attended school in Laton and as a younger man. He traveled the United States in his car. He was well known for collecting the clutter that filled his yards. He spent his days outdoors with his friends of many years who came by faithfully each day and were always on hand to support and assist him. Thanks to George Vargas for his help and support. Luis was preceded in death by his parents, Selso Hernandez and Catarina Hernandez; brother, Ignacio Hernandez; sister Michaela Hernandez, all of Laton, Ca. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Bakersfield; step-daughter, Cindy Borden of Bakersfield; cousins, Rosalinda Brum of Riverdale, Ca. and Eleanor Saldivar of Fresno as well as many others. A Burial Service will be held at San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella, Ca. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 1:30 p.m.
