Rites Monday for Local Resident

Mrs Harry Bird, 35, died shortly after midnight at her home, eight miles northwest of Greensburg.

The body was found in her room at the farm residence early Saturday morning by a brother-in-law, Emmett Hires. It is believed that she had been dead about seven hours. Dr J C Miller, county coroner, pronounced the death due to natural causes.

Born near Kingston on June 14, 1913, she was the former Mary Christine Haley, daughter of Walter and Maude Humble Haley.

Throughout her life she had been a resident of Decatur county. Her marriage to Harry Bird took place in 1933.

Besides the husband she is survived by her parents, Mr and Mrs Walter Haley,of Sandusky; two brothers, Floyd Haley, of Richmond and Russell Haley, of New Point; three sisters, Mrs Lorena Larrison, of Rock Island, Ill, Mrs Emmett (Hilda) Hires, of Connersville, and Miss Mildred Haley, of Sandusky.

Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Howe funeral home. The Rev John F Williams will officiate. Burial will be made in South Park cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after the noon hour on Sunday.
