Arcola-Services for Barbara Lynnette Blackburn, 66, of Arcola, were to be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Boone Funeral Home Chapel in Hollandale, with buriel in Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork. A visitation is set for Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mrs. Blackburn died April 30, 2006 at her home.

A convenience store cashier, she was a native of Darlove and educated in the Hollandale Public schools. She was employed at Deer Creek School in Arcola for several years and later became employed with Sterling Petroleum as a cashier at their convenience gas mart, before retiring due to ill health.

A member of Darlove Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her parents, Walter "Nub" Jones and Hazel Pope Jones; her husband Norris Blackburn in 1995, her grandson Travis Scott Blackburn in 1994 and a sister; Brenda Jones in 1951.

She is survived by a son, Michael Bruce Blackburn of Rolling Fork and a sister; Dixie Jones Parker of Belzoni; six brothers; Walter "Buster" Jones of Kingsport, Tennessee, Gary Jones of Kingsport, Tennessee, Albert R. "Runt" Jones of Phoenix, Arizona, Albert Lee Jones of Belzoni, Mitchell "Mitch" Jones of Jackson and Darryl Jones of Greenville, two daughters, Destiny Winslow Blackburn and Allie Blackburn, both of Rolling Fork, two sons, Michael "Doug" Blackburn and Richard Blackburn, both of Rolling Fork.
