Funeral service for Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Blackwell will be 2 p.m., Thursday., Oct. 10, at Pleasant View Baptist Church, Pryor, with Pastor Gerald Pilant officiating. Burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens, Claremore. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday. 1-8 p.m.

Elizabeth passed away Fri., Oct. 4, 2013, at Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 80.

The daughter of Earl Nick and Flora Ena (Montgomery) Dooley was born Feb. 5, 1933, at the family home outside of Chouteau.

One of seven children, she helped on the family farm, and attended Chouteau schools where she played basketball. She married Jesse Allman Blackwell on March 12, 1950. They traveled for several years before making their home in Claremore.

Elizabeth worked at the luggage factory, and then went to work for the Dollar store in Claremore. They moved to Pryor in 1971, and she went to work for the Dollar store in Pryor as the manager. Elizabeth worked there for many years, and then went to work for Ranch Supply. She later went to work for Fabricut as a seamstress making custom drapes.

Elizabeth loved being active outdoors. She loved fishing and riding her lawn mower. She always grew a large garden and raised flowers.

Elizabeth also enjoyed genealogy which she shared with her daughter. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of 1812, Daughter of Indian Wars, Rogers County Cherokee Association, First Families of the Cherokee Nation, First Families of Indian Territory, and the Pocahontas Club.

Elizabeth also shared a love of beadwork with her daughter. She was a beading artist, TERO certified through the Cherokee Nation, and sold many of her pieces. Elizabeth also enjoyed raising weanie dogs, and playing the organ at home.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse in 2003; son, Jack; her parents; brother, Nick Dooley; and sister, Carolyn Sue "Judy" Couch.

She is survived by her children: Gary Blackwell and wife, Debbie, and Kathy Robinson and husband, Louis all of Claremore; siblings: Reta Curl of Vinita, Earl Charles Dooley and wife, Janice of Afton, Jim Dooley and wife, Betty of Chouteau, and Harvey Dooley and wife, Chualla of Westville; grandchildren: Edward Blackwell and wife, Jessica, Susan Kline and husband, David, Steven Blackwell and wife, Jennifer, and Kevin Blackwell and wife, Jessica; step-grandchildren: Eagle Robinson and wife, Laura; great-grandchildren: Justin, Ethan, Ashley, Austin, Logan, Ayden, and Korbyn; and step-great-grandchildren: Eagle, Jr. and Locke.
