Patsy was born November 7, 1935 in Tillamook, OR to Woodrow and Marie Knopf; she passed away October 10, 2007 in Mount Vernon.

Patsy and her family moved to Big Lake in 1952, where she has resided since. Patsy was a Registered LPN and worked at Skagit Valley Hospital for 28 years, until retiring in 1986.

After retirement Patsy enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was an avid sports fan, especially the Mariners and the Huskies.

Patsy was a member of the Big Lake Church of the Nazarene.

Patsy is survived by her children: David (Theresa) Gilbert, Jeff Gilbert, Art (Danita) Gilbert; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; sister, Lois (Sam) Nersten; brother, Herman (Lois "Annie") Knopf.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald in 1993; daughter, Lynne in 1960; sister, Kay Knopf-Hughes in 2000.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2007, 10:00 am until 5:00 pm and Wednesday October 17, 2007, 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home, followed by a Graveside Service, 2:00pm at Hawthorne Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the Big Lake Church of the Nazarene.

Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, 1825 E. College Way, Mount Vernon.
