Amy Carol Davis Byrd, age 36, of Lucedale, MS, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013. She was born August 30, 1977, in Waynesboro, MS. Mrs. Byrd was a Teacher / Educator with the Moss Point School System and a member of the Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marissa Anne Byrd and her grandfather, Marvin Leroy Jones.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by her husband, Kenley Byrd; son, Logan Byrd, parents, William and Mary Davis, Hurley, MS; sister, Amanda (Jeremy) Mason, Long Beach, MS; brother, W. Prentiss Davis, Baton Rouge, LA; niece, Brynn Sweetapple, Long Beach, MS; 2 nephews, Trey and Eaen Mason, both of Long Beach, MS; grandmother, Creola Jones, Prairieville, LA; and parents-in-law, RD and Annette Byrd, Lucedale, MS.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Byrd were held Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 1 PM, at the Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church in Lucedale, with Rev. Warren Slay, Rev. Mickey Middleton, and Rev. William R. Mills officiating. Burial followed in the Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
Cale Byrd, Quinon Kelley, Don Davis, David Pipkins, Heath Steede, and Dustin Brewer served as Pallbearers.
George County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIVES
A two vehicle accident claimed two lives last Friday morning, according to George County Sheriff Dean Howell.
A full-sized GMC pickup truck, being driven by Amy Carol Byrd, 36, collided head-on with a full-sized Dodge pickup driven by Terry G Bourne, 48, on River Road near Ellis Hodge Road in the Basin community.
According to a press statement issued by the Sheriff's Office, Byrd was a teacher with the Jackson County School System. Bourne was a sub-contractor working at Chevron.
The collision occurred at approximately 6:40 a.m., according to Sheriff's Deputy Larry Havard, who is handling the investigation.
The incident is still under investigation.
