"He was born Billy Gene Lowe on May 21, 1934 in Gouldbusk, Texas, a son of Emmitt Lowe and Violet Marie Williams Lowe. He grew up in Coleman County and attended school in Santa Anna. On July 2, 1955 he married Helen Cox in Coleman. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1958. Billy was a self-employed brick mason for many years. He was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ.
"Survivors include his wife, Helen Lowe of Coleman; two sons, Ray and wife Ramona Lowe of Waco, Guy and wife Tracy Lowe of Lubbock; two daughters, Paula and husband David Diaz of Coleman and Pennye Hayes of Coleman; one sister, Pauline Williams of Coleman; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
"Visitation will be held Friday, October 4 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan, Coleman, Texas 76834."
