Ora Bernice Harris, 82, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, October 02, 2013, at her home.

Services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Damian Velarde officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery at Cooper.

Mrs. Harris, the daughter of Jim & Nell Stephenson Burrow, was born Aug. 18, 1931, in Delta County.

She graduated from Enloe High School where she was valedictorian of her class. She then graduated from East Texas Teacher's College in Commerce. Her career in education spanned more than forty years. She taught in the Dallas ISD before becoming Director of Special Education for Red River County where she remained until retirement. Bernice taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church in Clarksville for a number of years.

In 1948, she married Orval Harris, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Cregg.

Survivors include two daughters, Jill Capps of Clarksville and Jami Brooks & husband Lance of Paris, grandchildren, Betty Lou McKinney, Brittany Posey, Leah Brooks, & Robert Brooks, great grandchildren, Alyssa Posey, Gunner Posey, Brandon McKinney & Gracie McKinney, a sister, Jimmie Nell Tolan of Keller along with a host of friends.
