Linda Anne Houston, 48, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 3, 2013 at Skagit Valley Hospital.

She was born November 28, 1964 in Sedro-Woolley, WA, the daughter of Ralph and Barbara Hanger.

Linda was raised in Burlington and attended Burlington Edison High School. She worked at Henry's Market before moving to Arizona where she married David Michael Kocsis, Sr.

In 1986 they moved to California where their son David Michael Kocsis, Jr. was born. Soon after, they moved back home to Skagit County to be close to family and friends. After her husband passed away, Linda met and fell in love with Charles Houston. They met working at Jansport, she as a seamstress and he as a sewing machine repair tech. They married in 2004 at their home in Burlington. They later made their home in Sedro- Woolley where they joined the American Legion Post #43.

While Charles served as Post Commander, Linda served as 1st Vice President of the Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed being a member of the American Legion Riders. She volunteered in the annual Stand Down for Homeless vets, worked on numerous Legion fundraisers, meals and events for the Legion.

Linda enjoyed her family, friends, pets, animal rescue, target shooting, golfing, motorcycles, the Legion and her job of many years at Hexcel where she worked till her illness last November. Prior to working at Hexcel she also worked for several years for her father Ralph and step-mother Linda Hanger at their curly fry and gyros food wagon at fairs and community events around northwest Washington.

Linda is survived by her mother Barbara Hanger; her son, David Kocsis and wife Samantha; sisters, Julia Benson, Marcia Carter and husband Bob, and Jessica Hanger; brothers; Mark Hanger and wife Barbara, Brent Hanger and wife Lisa, step-mother Linda Hanger; sister-in-law, Delores Houston; step-daughters, Michelle Abernathy and husband Bill, Kristine Purdy and husband Kevin, Rebecca Swinden and husband Tyler and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ralph Hanger; first husband, David Kocsis SR.; husband, Charles Houston and sister-in-law, Barbara Houston.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church, 800 E. Rio Vista in Burlington WA with Pastor Justin Howe officiating with a reception to follow.

A fellowship gathering will be held at the American Legion Post #43 at 5:30 p.m. at 701 Murdock Street, Sedro-Woolley.

Private inurnment will be at the Union Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Friends for Life Animal Rescue (FFLAR), P O Box 1542, Burlington WA, 98233 or to Homeless Veterans C/O the American Legion Post #43 Ladies Auxiliary, PO Box 269, Sedro-Woolley WA, 98284.
