Mrs. Peter (Josephine) Dop, 75, of Knoxville passed away unexpectedly at her home Sunday evening. Her death was attributed to a heart attack.

She was born March 1, 1897 in Marion County the daughter of Aart and Elizabeth Rempe Van Peursem. SHe was united in marriage on February 20, 1918 in Marion County to Peter Dop and the couple made their home on a farm near Prairie City until 1939 at which time they moved to the Fairview community near Knoxville. They have resided in Knoxville since 1963.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Knoxville.

Preceding her in death wer her parents, two children in infancy, three sisters and one grandson.

Left are her husband, Peter, five sons Roy of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Howard of rural Knoxville, Earl and Kenneth of Knoxville, Harry of Pleasantville; three daughters Mrs. Wayne Dorothy Roberts of San Francisco, California, Mrs. Wendell Irma Williams of Pleasantville and Mrs. Bill Lucille Wolf of Knoxville: 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also left are two brothers Pete Van Peursem fo Prairie City, Iowa and John Van Peursem of Pella; two sisters Mrs. Janette Ruvaart and Mrs. Emma Vroom both of Pella and several nieces and nephews.
