Funeral services for Hattie A. Hedlund were held Tuesday, September 26, 1967 at 2 p.m. from the Calvary Lutheran church. The Rev. Carl W. Larson officiated. Mrs. David Holmen sang accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Tangen. Casket bearers were: Edwin Anderson, Leonard Hanson, Hans Haugen, Ronald Kvitek, Carlos Lordalen and Clarence Johnson. Interment was made in the Christian Union cemetery.
Hattie Amanda Hedlund was born at Holmes City, Minn., October 16, 1906, the daughter of John and Christena Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Calvary Lutheran church. She was united in marriage to Richard Hedlund of Carlos at Holmes City on March 28, 1936. She had been a resident of Alexandria for 14 years and was employed at the Bethany Home for many years. Hattie died suddenly Friday evening, September 22, at the Douglas County hospital at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 6 days. Surviving are her husband, Richard; a daughter (Marlys) Mrs. Dale Lindgren of Minneapolis, two grandchildren and two sisters: (Emma) Mrs. Carl Lordalen of Lowry and (Alpha) Mrs. Olaf Swedberg of Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
