Hattie M. Kornelson, 81, of McPherson, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at her daughter's home in Wichita, Kansas. She was a retired LPN, working at Golden Plains Nursing Home, Hutchinson, Northview Manor and Memorial Hospital, both of McPherson.

She was born on November 6, 1931, in Bazaar, Kansas, the daughter of James E. and Eunice M. (Walker) Storment. She graduated from Hays High School in 1949. On July 15, 1950, Hattie was united in marriage to Harold P. Kornelson in McPherson, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1999.

Hattie was a member of the First Christian Church and the V.F.W. Post #2715 Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered for Prairieland Shares.

Survivors include: sons, Paul D. Kornelson (Lynette) of Hutchinson, KS and Philip Kornelson (Julie) of McPherson, KS; daughters, Donna Gregg (John) of McPherson, KS, Debra Ribordy (Edward) of McPherson, KS, and Diana Barbazon (Brian) of Wichita, KS; brothers, James Storment of Versailles, MO, Smith Storment of Lupkin, TX, and Nathan Storment of Hampton, VA; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Riley and Melvin Storment, sisters, Roberta Powell, Rozella Salsman, Hazel McKey, and Rose Berry, and grandson, Dustin Gregg.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the North Inman Cemetery, Inman, KS with Rev. Lynn Scott officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Memorial donations may be given to the McPherson County Humane Society or the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
