Debra Jean Garrett age 59, of Hayesville, NC passed away December 22, 2012 at her home. She was born January 14, 1953 to Titus Garrett and Ruby Eller Garrett. She was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, C.D. Garrett.
She is survived by one brother, Carlos Garrett of Hayesville, NC; six sisters; Roberta Fisher of Martinsburg, WV, Dorothy Scroggs of Cumming, GA, Emma McClure of Roswell, GA, Rita Slaton of Alpharetta, GA, Evelyn Wright of Ellijay, GA, Patricia Maney of Hayesville, NC; several nieces and nephews as well as special caregivers Frank and Judy Johns.
Miss Garrett was a lifelong resident of Clay County and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed going to church as well as going shopping. She also enjoyed listening to country music and watching television.
Funeral services will be held at Townson‑Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville on Monday, December 24, 2012 at 3:00 pm. Rev. Kiffer Ledford will officiate. Special music will be provided by Billy Garrett. Burial will be in the Bell Scene Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiawassee, GA. Pallbearers will be Nathan Garrett, Dwayne Maney, Cole Guffey, Glen Slaton, Lee Wright, and Greg Scroggs. Honorary pallbearers will be Cassidy Stewart, Scott Wright, Chad Wright, Gary Scroggs, and Michael McClure.
