Edwin C. Adams Edwin C. Adams, 79, Spring Grove R.D.2, near Jefferson, died Friday at 8:45 p.m. at the Hanover General Hospital.
He was a tax collector, assessor and road supervisor for Toboyne Township, Perry County, prior to moving to Spring Grove area to farm in 1940.
Adams, husband of Mrs. Carrie Mundis Adams, who died in 1954, was a native of Perry County, a son of the late Robert and Sarah Jane Yost Adams. He was a member of Jefferson Volunteer Fire Co.
Surviving are two sons, Robert L. Adams and Edwin C. Adams Jr., Spring Grove R. D.2; two daughters, Mrs. Emma A. Dewey, Spring Grove R.D.l, and Mrs. D. Eugene Cool, Spring Grove R.D.3; 11 grandchildren and 3 brothers, Robert L. Adams, North Miami, Fla. H. Van Adams, York, and Earl Adams, Hershey.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Sauter funeral home, Spring Grove, with the Rev. Joseph W. Seitz, pastor of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Spring Grove, officiating. Burial will be in St. Jacobs Union Cemetery, York New Salem. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
