Catherine M. Conner-Croyle, 92, of Sligo, PA, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 following a brief illness. She was born April 9, 1921 in Toby Twp., Clarion Co., PA, the daughter of Fred and Jean B. (Snyder) McCall. Catherine lived in the area all her life and was a member of the Morris Chapter No. 14 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her calling in life was caring for others, and she lived this out by being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Catherine enjoyed working with the public and helped with the Clarion County literacy campaign and the Clarion County Agency on Aging. Concord Presbyterian Church was her life-long church home and she considered the church members to be her family. Catherine also loved traveling and throughout her life visited many destinations in the United States and in other countries. Her family and friends will always cherish her kind and giving spirit. She will be fondly remembered by her sons, Norman Conner, Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Parker, and Fred Conner and wife, Linda, of Holden, MA; daughters, Linda Taylor, of Rochester, NY, Lola "Jean" Callander and husband, Ned, of Parker, and Bonnie Elliott and husband, Herb, of Parker; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a number of step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Opal Roark, of Chattanooga, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lawrence Conner, who died August 9, 1973; second husband, Bill Croyle, of December 10, 1987; one infant child; brother, Alexander McCall; and sisters, Elsetta Taylor and Josephine Terwilliger. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA. Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Concord Presbyterian Church, 2662 Concord Church Rd., Parker, with the Rev. Stephanie Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Parker, PA. Contributions can be made in Catherine's memory to a charity of one's choice or Concord Presbyterian Church, 2662 Concord Church Rd., Parker, PA 16049.
