A resident of Denham Springs and a former longtime resident of Baker, she died on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at her home. She was 74 and a native of Long Beach, Miss. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Graveside service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory on Wednesday at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Dennis Terry Sr. She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Blade of Denham Springs, Alice Blade of Greenwell Springs and Nona Blade of Palm Harbor, Fla.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles "Chuck" Sr. and Stacie Blade and L.M. and Joyce Alexander, all of Denham Springs; beloved niece, Mary Alice Fischer of Denham Springs; five sisters, two brothers, 10 grandchildren, Tammy Quick, Donna Jones, Dustin McLin, Rachel Swinehart, Charles Blade Jr., Miranda Jarreau, Melvin Alexander Jr., Amber Decou, Lacie Carter and Katie Decou; and 13 great-grandchildren, David and Kaylan Quick, Clarissa and Bracyn Swinehart, Makala, Dakota, Savannah and Emily Decou, Brittney Pourciau, Sylvia Duay, Danielle McLin, and Makenzie and Haylee-an Jarreau. She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Neathery Jr.; parents, Lillian and Lewis Allen; a sister and a brother. Susie loved good food, country music and having fun. She was always laughing and making others laugh. She enjoyed being with her family and always made Christmas a special time. It's only fitting that she went home on Christmas Eve.
